Native Galah vases These were custom made for a studio friend (@hazel_ceramics_au) as part of a pottery trade. They feature her two galah friends: Doc- chaotic, destructive, loud and Esther- a cute, sweet, cuddler. Giant pinch-pots with coils added for height. The bottom is Keane ironstone and it slowly blends into Feeneys buff raku trachyte towards the top where I've marbled the two together. Very rustic styling, they were made with the intention to hold Australian native flowers, perhaps some big pink proteas? The designs were sketched out with black Chrysanthos underglaze and then filled in with Wheelhouse Studio 'marshmallow' and 'tea house' glazes. The white is NPS white satin and the majority of the body is unglazed. Fired cone 10 oxidation.
